Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic Social Media Manager & Talent Manager to lead our social media strategy and community development across TRD Studios and our portfolio companies. You will be responsible for crafting compelling narratives that showcase our entrepreneurs and ventures, whilst simultaneously identifying and nurturing emerging talent within our ecosystem. This dual role offers the unique opportunity to influence brand perception and build a thriving community of creators, founders, and changemakers.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Strategy & Execution
Develop and implement a cohesive social media strategy across platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube) that reflects the TRD Studios brand voice and drives engagement with entrepreneurs, investors, and the broader startup community.
Create and curate high-quality content that tells the stories of our portfolio companies, founders, and initiatives, translating complex business concepts into compelling visual and written narratives.
Manage day-to-day social media operations, including content calendars, posting schedules, community engagement, and real-time response to audience interactions.
Monitor social media analytics and performance metrics, providing regular reports and insights to inform strategy adjustments and demonstrate ROI.
Community Building & Engagement
Build and nurture an engaged community across our social channels, responding to comments, messages, and feedback in a timely and authentic manner.
Identify trends, conversations, and opportunities within the startup and entrepreneurship space that align with our brand values and audience interests.
Collaborate with portfolio companies to amplify their social media presence and create cross-promotional opportunities that benefit the broader ecosystem.
Organise and coordinate social media campaigns that celebrate founder stories, highlight ecosystem achievements, and drive participation in TRD initiatives.
Talent Identification & Development
Scout and identify emerging talent across our ecosystem including entrepreneurs, creators, designers, developers, and potential team members who align with TRD values.
Create talent development programmes and pathways that provide mentorship, visibility, and growth opportunities within the TRD network.
Maintain a talent pipeline and database, facilitating introductions and collaborations between talented individuals and portfolio companies or TRD teams.
Develop case studies and content features that showcase talented individuals and their work, building their personal brands whilst strengthening TRD’s reputation as an ecosystem builder.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with content creators, designers, and filmmakers to produce visually compelling social media assets.
Partner with the portfolio companies and startup leaders to understand their narratives and ensure authentic representation on social channels.
Collaborate with the recruitment and team building functions to source talent for TRD and our ventures.
Key Qualifications and Skills
Proven experience managing social media for startups, ventures, or entrepreneurship platforms, with a demonstrated ability to grow engaged communities.
Strong understanding of social media platforms and their unique mechanics, audience behaviours, and content formats.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft authentic, compelling narratives across different audiences.
Creative mindset with a flair for visual storytelling and content ideation.
Experience with social media analytics tools and the ability to interpret data to inform strategy.
A genuine passion for entrepreneurship, innovation, and talent development.
Experience in community building, talent scouting, or recruitment is a plus.
Comfort working across multiple platforms and adapting quickly to emerging social media trends.
Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build relationships across the ecosystem.
Self-motivated and able to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with teams.
